Homicide at La Pointe, Dennery.
On Saturday, June 10, 2023, about 3:40 a.m. Officers attached to the Dennery Police
Station responded to a report of a stabbing at La Pointe, Dennery. On arrival the
Officers observed one (1) female with multiple stab wounds about her body.
The female was later identified as Bonita James thirty-three (33) years old of La
Pointe, Dennery. She was conveyed to the St. Jude Hospital via ambulance, where
she was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
One (1) male is presently in custody in relation to this incident. A post mortem
examination is scheduled for a later date.
