PRESS RELEASE:  Unicomer Hosts Vaccination Drive At Courts Marisule Complex

Castries, St. Lucia, 03 November 2021: On Thursday, 03 November 2021, Unicomer (Saint Lucia) Limited collaborated with the Ministry of Health to host its second public vaccination drive at its Courts Marisule complex. The drive saw hundreds of customers and employees of Unicomer coming to the store to get their COVID-19 vaccines.

Since the commencement of the COVID-19 virus, Unicomer (Saint Lucia) Limited has demonstrated its commitment to the fight against the virus, through its We Are All Essential campaign focused on public education and driving the message of personal responsibility in the fight. The Company also mandated temperature checks, hand sanitization and the wearing of masks upon entry to all of its facilities and managing in store capacity with automated headcounters.

Unicomer also developed a COVID-19 Response and Management Plan that includes communication of information on the virus and available vaccines and the monitoring of its team members.  As part of the plan, employees receive regular information bulletins with health and safety tips and vaccine education.

Chief Nursing Officer, Julietta Cassius said “The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs is pleased to have collaborated with Unicomer to make the COVID -19 vaccines more accessible to its employees, customers and the wider population. We express our gratitude to the management of Unicomer for recognizing the public health importance of increasing the uptake of the COVID – 19 vaccines in reducing the impact of the COVID – 19 virus on the general population. We will continue to partner with agencies like Unicomer in achieving the required national vaccination coverage.”

The company has staggered its vaccination drive to allow persons who took the first shot at their facility the opportunity to return for the second shot. The aim is to continue to collaborate with the Ministry of Health to ensure the safety and wellbeing of Unicomer employees, its customers and the general public.
